...Crowned Patron of G-17 For Peter Mbah, As He Vows to Deliver APC from President to Councillors in 2027
Excitement, cheers and thunderous applause filled the Udenu Local Government Council Secretariat, Obollo Afor, on Friday, July 10, 2026, as the APC Chairmanship Candidate for Udenu Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Innocent Ezeoha (Techmore), arrived the venue of the inauguration of the G-17 For Peter Mbah Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers.
His arrival triggered jubilant celebrations among hundreds of party faithful, political stakeholders, traditional leaders, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers who had gathered from the ten political wards of Udenu for the inauguration.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. Dr. Innocent Ezeoha expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for finding him worthy to emerge as the APC Chairmanship Candidate ahead of the September 2026 Local Government election.
"I want G-17 to sincerely thank our Governor for finding me worthy to serve the people of Udenu. By the grace of God, when I assume office as Chairman, G-17 will have a dependable partner because I have discovered that this is not one of those mushroom support groups. I will work closely with this movement," he declared.
He pledged total support for G-17, assuring members that his administration would collaborate with the movement to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across Udenu.
"I will work hand in hand with G-17 to deliver every APC candidate, from the Presidency to the Councillorship positions, in the 2027 general elections," he stated.
Hon. Ezeoha praised Governor Peter Mbah for the numerous developmental projects executed across Udenu, including the construction of 10 Smart Green Schools, 10 fully equipped Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, rural road infrastructure and other people-oriented projects.
"What Governor Peter Mbah has done for Udenu deserves appreciation. Our people will pay him back with their votes because performance deserves continuity," he added.
The high point of the ceremony came when Hon. Dr. Innocent Ezeoha was unanimously decorated and officially proclaimed a Patron of G-17 For Peter Mbah, amid loud ovation from members and supporters.
Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area warmly welcomed the leadership of G-17 For Peter Mbah and described the organisation as the leading grassroots political mobilisation structure in Enugu State.
"I have followed the activities of G-17 across the State and I am impressed. Looking at the calibre of people inaugurated today, it is obvious this is not a rented crowd but genuine grassroots mobilisers. I am happy to identify with this movement and I will work with G-17 to ensure victory for all APC candidates in 2027," she stated.
Also speaking, the APC Women Leader in Udenu Local Government Area openly declared her support for G-17.
"I am now a supporter of G-17 because I like what this movement is doing. I will work closely with them because Udenu people appreciate genuine grassroots mobilisation," she said.
Welcoming the delegation to his home local government, the State Youth Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Nnamdi Odoh, declared that the youths of Udenu had already resolved to reward Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with overwhelming votes.
"The youths are fully prepared. Nobody will deceive them anymore because they have seen the remarkable transformation taking place under Governor Peter Mbah's administration. Udenu is ready," he declared.
In her remarks, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, urged women across Udenu to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and remain active participants in the electoral process.
She noted that women and children remain the greatest beneficiaries of Governor Peter Mbah's administration through free education in Smart Green Schools and improved maternal healthcare services available in the Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres.
Also speaking, the General Manager of Orie Orba International Market commended G-17 for extending its mobilisation structure to Udenu.
He reminded members that despite having a candidate from another political party during the recent Enugu North Senatorial bye-election, the people of Udenu overwhelmingly voted for APC's Senator Ikeje Asogwa.
"That election proved that Udenu is APC. We shall repeat the same feat in 2027 by delivering all APC candidates," he affirmed.
Delivering his keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, thanked Hon. Dr. Innocent Ezeoha and the Deputy Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area for warmly receiving the movement.
He reiterated that G-17 remains a disciplined grassroots political structure established to complement the APC by mobilising voters from the polling unit level.
"G-17 is not competing with the party structure. We are here to strengthen APC at the grassroots and ensure that every candidate of the party emerges victorious in 2027," he stated.
Hon. Dr. Mbah congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and reminded them that their inauguration represented a call to service rather than a ceremonial event.
"You are already converted. Your assignment now is to move from community to community, ward to ward and polling unit to polling unit, telling our people about the achievements of Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu," he charged.
Highlighting the dividends of democracy enjoyed by Udenu, the Director-General listed the construction of 10 Smart Green Schools, 10 fully equipped Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, rural road projects and other developmental initiatives across the local government.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the ongoing dualisation of the Obollo Afor–Opi–9th Mile Federal Highway, describing it as one of the most strategic road projects in the South-East.
He further highlighted the establishment of Enugu Air, the expansion of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport into a cargo hub, the introduction of CNG buses, the Enugu Taxi Scheme, and other landmark projects transforming the state.
"What Governor Peter Mbah has accomplished within this short period is unprecedented. Nobody can deceive Ndi Enugu anymore. There is no vacancy in Lion Building in 2027," he declared.
The event concluded with the inauguration of the Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers of G-17 For Peter Mbah, who pledged to immediately commence intensive ward-to-ward, community-to-community and door-to-door mobilisation across Udenu Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
