_...Says G-17 Has the Structure, Manpower and Grassroots Capacity to Deliver APC Top-to-Bottom in 2027_

Political activities reached another high point in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area on Wednesday, 8th July 2026, as the G-17 For Peter Mbah inaugurated its Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers at the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Council Secretariat amid a massive turnout of party faithful, political stakeholders, community leaders, women, youths and supporters from across the twenty political wards of the council.

Welcoming the delegation, the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Uche Michael Ogalla, expressed excitement over finally receiving G-17 in the council.

"I have long anticipated this day. Before now, I deliberately carried out my own investigations and due diligence about G-17, and I am convinced that this is a structured grassroots-based support group with the manpower to deliver any candidate during elections," he stated.

The chairman said he was impressed by the calibre of men and women inaugurated into the movement, describing them as credible grassroots mobilisers.

He commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for transforming Igbo-Eze North through extensive rural road construction, the establishment of 20 Smart Green Schools and 20 fully equipped Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres spread across the local government.

"With what Governor Peter Mbah has done for Igbo-Eze North, we cannot afford not to deliver APC in 2027," he declared.

As a major highlight of the ceremony, Hon. Engr. Uche Michael Ogalla donated a brand-new operational bus to G-17 For Peter Mbah to facilitate the movement of its executives and enhance grassroots mobilisation across the local government.

He further assured the leadership of G-17 that the remaining period of his administration would be devoted to working closely with the movement to intensify ward-to-ward sensitisation and encourage eligible residents to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Speaking at the event, the Enugu State Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Dr. Nathaniel Urama, said he deliberately adjusted his busy official schedule because he considered the gathering too important to miss.

"It is difficult to leave my office, but after studying G-17, I realised this is not just another support group. They are on ground, they mean business and they are prepared for election delivery. Politics is local; it is not about billboards but about talking to the people at the grassroots. That is exactly what G-17 represents, and I am proud to identify with this movement."

He pledged to support the activities of G-17 wherever necessary to ensure the successful re-election of Governor Peter Mbah and all APC candidates.

The Secretary to Igbo-Eze North Local Government, Hon. Eya Onyekachi, described G-17 as one of the oldest and most dependable political support groups in Enugu State.

"G-17 has delivered governors before and remains capable of doing so again. They have earned a reputation for excellent grassroots mobilisation."

Also speaking, the former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Pastor Emeka Abugu, said he felt honoured when he received the invitation to attend the inauguration.

"As an old politician, I know serious political structures when I see one. G-17 means business. I urge the people of Igbo-Eze North to give this movement maximum support."

The APC Chairmanship Candidate for Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Hon. High Chief Dr. Onyekachi Simon, assured members that his administration would maintain a strong partnership with G-17 if elected.

"By the grace of God, when I assume office as Chairman, my office will remain open to G-17 twenty-four hours a day. This movement is a moving train, and we shall work together throughout my tenure."

The former Chairman of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Nze Chief Chidi Nwomeh, also welcomed the movement, describing it as the only support group he has seen that possesses the genuine structure required to deliver electoral victory.

"Tell Governor Peter Mbah that Igbo-Eze North is solidly behind him. We have no other political party."

Speaking on behalf of the national leadership of G-17, the Secretary-General, Hon. Chidi Eze, declared that the opposition had lost relevance in the face of Governor Peter Mbah's performance.

"This is not a good time for the opposition. Governor Peter Mbah has proved them wrong through visible development. They should simply wait for another election because in Igbo-Eze North all APC candidates will emerge victorious."

The State Youth Leader of G-17, Hon. Nnamdi Odoh, urged youths across Igbo-Eze North to prepare for the 2027 elections by rewarding Governor Peter Mbah for his outstanding performance.

"What happened during the Enugu North Senatorial bye-election that produced Senator Ikeje Asogwa is only a signal of what is coming. The youths are ready and nobody will deceive them again."

In her address, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, urged women to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and continue supporting Governor Peter Mbah.

She noted that women and children remain the greatest beneficiaries of the administration through free education in Smart Green Schools and improved maternal healthcare services at the Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres.

Delivering his keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, thanked Hon. Engr. Uche Michael Ogalla for providing adequate security and creating an enabling environment for the successful inauguration.

He particularly commended the chairman for constructing the international-standard Eke-Ugrute Market, strengthening security across the local government and executing several people-oriented projects.

"I sincerely appreciate the Chairman for the remarkable work he has done. I also thank him for donating this operational bus to G-17. I wish him greater heights after the successful completion of his tenure."

Hon. Dr. Mbah congratulated the newly inaugurated executives, reminding them that their inauguration represented a call to service rather than a ceremonial exercise.

"You are already converted; your assignment now is to go out and convert others. Move from ward to ward, community to community and polling unit to polling unit, telling our people about the achievements of Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu."

Highlighting the dividends of democracy enjoyed by Igbo-Eze North, the Director-General listed the construction of 20 Smart Green Schools, 20 Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, completed and ongoing rural road projects, as well as federal appointments facilitated under the APC administration.

He particularly noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed one of Igbo-Eze North's illustrious sons as Chief of the Naval Staff, a development that also facilitated the establishment of a Naval Base in Enugu State.

"With all these achievements, Igbo-Eze North has every reason to reward Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates with one hundred percent votes in 2027."

The event further strengthened the growing statewide grassroots mobilisation campaign of G-17 ahead of the 2027 general elections and witnessed overwhelming endorsements from political leaders across Igbo-Eze North, all pledging to work with the movement to deliver Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates.

Unlike conventional support groups, G-17 For Peter Mbah operates as a disciplined grassroots political structure whose members are carefully selected, sworn into office and required to possess valid Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The movement has continued to distinguish itself through its ward-to-ward and polling-unit mobilisation strategy across Enugu State.

The ceremony concluded with the inauguration of the Local Government Executives, Ward Executives and Polling Unit Canvassers of G-17 For Peter Mbah, who pledged to immediately commence aggressive grassroots mobilisation and political sensitisation across all communities in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
