ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY 2026:

The Nkanu Youth Organization joins the rest of Nigeria on this solemn occasion of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, January 15, to honour the brave men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces who laid down their lives in defence of our nation’s unity, sovereignty, and peace.

This day stands as a sacred moment of national reflection—a time to remember the immeasurable sacrifices made by our fallen heroes across generations, from global wars and internal conflicts to peacekeeping missions and contemporary security operations. Their courage, discipline, and devotion to duty remain the bedrock upon which our collective freedom and national survival rest.

On behalf of the entire Nkanu Youth Organization and the resilient youths of Nkanu land, I extend our deepest gratitude to the families of our fallen heroes. We recognise that the cost of service does not end on the battlefield. It continues in the lives of spouses, children, parents, and loved ones who bear the weight of loss with quiet strength and dignity. Their sacrifice is shared by the nation and must never be forgotten.

As Ndi Nkanu, we reaffirm our unwavering respect for the Nigerian Armed Forces and all security personnel who continue to serve with honour under difficult and often dangerous conditions. Their commitment to safeguarding lives and preserving national unity inspires us as young people to embrace patriotism, discipline, and responsible citizenship.

Armed Forces Remembrance Day also reminds us of our collective responsibility as citizens. Peace is not accidental, and unity is not guaranteed. They are sustained by dialogue, tolerance, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to nation-building. The lessons of Nigeria’s history compel us to reject division, violence, and hatred, and to work tirelessly for a future anchored on justice, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.

The Nkanu Youth Organization remains committed to promoting these values among our youths and supporting initiatives that strengthen national unity and social cohesion. We believe that the greatest honour we can give our fallen heroes is to build a Nigeria worthy of their sacrifice.

May the souls of our departed heroes rest in perfect peace.

May their courage continue to guide our nation.

May Nigeria remain united and secure.

Signed:
