........... Says Governor Mbah’s performance and infrastructural developments across the state have made his re-election as Governor and the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu easier in Enugu come 2027.
The Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Dr Ibenaku Harford Onoh, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the council is targeting over 200,000 members to ensure a smooth re-election of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Speaking on Wednesday during the flag-off ceremony of the ongoing membership e-registration of the party held at Hilltop in the Chairman’s home ward, Dr. Onoh stated that the APC has become a household name in the state following the entrance of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, a name he described as a movement in the state.
He said that the good works of Governor Mbah across the state, especially in Enugu North LGA, have made the exercise easier, as many supporters of the Governor’s progress- and development-oriented leadership style are queuing to join the party to support his re-election and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also stated that the party in Enugu North Local Government Area has put measures in place to ensure a hitch-free exercise, adding that they are targeting the number-one position in the state.
Other leaders of the party in the local government area who spoke at the event include the Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Johnson Anih; the Deputy Chairman of Enugu North LGA, Hon Echezona Ugwu; former chairmen of the council, Hon Emeka Onunze, Hon Emma Onoh, Hon Friday Ugwu, Hon John Eze, Hon Isaac Igwe, and Hon Herbert Orji; former Chairman of Ogbete Main Market and former Chairman of all markets in the South-East, Hon Temple; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Donor Relations, Hon Dubem Onyia. Other speakers include the APC Chairman of Enugu North LGA, the Acting President of Ogbete Main Market, and the Acting Chairperson of New Aria Market, among others.
In an interview with newsmen, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Hon Ernest Onuoha, said that the pace at which people are trooping into the party is thrilling, noting that the party is more united than ever and determined to repay the good works of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah with a massive turnout of votes come 2027.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC Registration Committee in Enugu North LGA, Hon Kester Agu, said the party is mobilising more than 100 persons per ward to oversee the success of the exercise.
He added that the council chairman, Dr Ibenaku Harford Onoh, has provided all the needed logistics to ensure that Enugu North Local Government emerges first at the conclusion of the exercise.
