...A Response to Ugochukwu Agballah (Pseudonym: Okwudiri Nnamani) on His Comic Essay Titled "2027: The Origin of Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji’s Alleged Certificate Forgery"
By Emmanuel Chukwuebuka
Articles of this nature typically do not warrant a response from the Honourable former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, or his supporters. However, since the author, widely recognised as Ugochukwu Agballah, the former Chairman of APC Enugu State who was removed from office, attempted to conceal his identity behind the fictitious name "Okwudiri Nnamani," a rebuttal is necessary. Many readers familiar with his style immediately recognised his handiwork. Silence in the face of such claims could be misinterpreted by Ndi Enugu as an admission of guilt.
The pseudonymous writer cleverly attempts to drag the elder statesman, Senator Ken Nnamani, GCFR, into this controversy. Yet, for months, the issue of Hon. Uche Nnaji's certificates has been in the public domain. If Senator Nnamani were truly familiar with or concerned about the matter, why has he not spoken on it?
We appreciate the acknowledgment that Uche Nnaji legitimately won the Enugu East Senatorial seat in 1999 but honourably relinquished it to Senator Jim Nwobodo. This act speaks volumes about the man's character: he is not driven by desperation or a need for control, unlike some who seek to dominate every sphere of influence.
Chief Uche Nnaji resigned as Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology to allow a clear and unhindered process amid the allegations leveled against him. Would Ugochukwu Agballah show similar grace in comparable circumstances? This is a man known for betraying allies for personal gain.
Without Chief Uche Nnaji's steadfast support, Agballah would have been removed as APC Enugu State Chairman far earlier. Attempts to oust him occurred in 2022, 2023, 2024, and even into 2025. It was Nnaji who consistently shielded him, declaring publicly that "Nobody can remove Ebeaneje while I am still around."
Today, the same "Ebeaneje" has turned against his former benefactor.
To the best of our knowledge, Chief Uche Nnaji never prevented Ugochukwu Agballah, or anyone from the old APC, from aligning with Governor Peter Mbah. Why then the persistent attacks on a man who has remained silent? Is it fear of his composure, or something else?
Politics should be played with decorum.
Allow Chief Nnaji to pursue his path in peace. He is not obligated to join any particular camp or endorse Governor Mbah. No one can force such alignment.
Chief Uche Nnaji is an institution in his own right.
His dignified silence unnerves his detractors which is precisely why he is known as Nwakaibie.
