Enugu PDP Suffers Another Blow as Former Nkanu East Chairman Chief Ejike Ani Resigns
Enugu State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been dealt yet another setback following the resignation of Chief Ejike Ani (Oso Uzuzuru), a prominent political figure and former Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area.
In a letter dated 24th September 2025 and addressed to the Chairman of Amechi Idodo/Oruku Ward, Chief Ani formally announced his decision to quit the party, citing careful consideration and personal reflection. He expressed deep gratitude for the support and trust he received during his tenure as the elected Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Council on two occasions and as a member of the Enugu State Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), among other roles.
Chief Ani described his years of service as a privilege, thanking the PDP for the opportunities for growth and community service afforded to him, while refraining from disclosing his next political move. His resignation, acknowledged by the ward chairman, adds to the growing list of high-profile exits rocking the PDP in Enugu State ahead of the next political cycle.
This development is expected to further unsettle the party’s structure in Nkanu East and beyond as speculations mount over Chief Ani’s future political direction.
