In a groundbreaking stride towards inclusive governance and equal opportunity, the Enugu State Government has successfully concluded a special edition of the *Civil Servants Digital Literacy Training Program*—this time, focusing exclusively on *Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the state’s public service*.

Held at the *ESCET ICT Hub* and *HRC ICT Hub*, the program empowered dozens of PWD civil servants with the digital competencies needed to thrive in today’s technology-driven work environment. From basic computer operations to productivity tools like Microsoft Word and Excel, participants were immersed in real, practical skill-building designed to improve both individual efficiency and organizational performance.

_*“This program means more than just training — it means visibility, inclusion, and _progress. I feel better equipped to serve, and proud to be part of a government that sees me,”*_

— Chinyere Mba, Admin Officer, Ministry of Gender Affairs

_*“ We’ve been given the tools to compete, to grow, and to contribute meaningfully. This is real empowerment,”*_

— Ifeanyi Uzochukwu, Clerical Staff, Ministry of Works

The initiative is a direct reflection of *Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s* bold commitment to leaving no one behind—not in opportunity, not in access, and not in the future of work. It reinforces the administration’s dedication to creating a digitally competent, inclusive, and forward-thinking civil service that reflects the best of Enugu’s values.

This special batch builds upon the momentum of the broader Digital Literacy Program, which has already trained *over 5,000 civil servants* and *10,000+ public school teachers* in just under two years. The training is now a *mandatory requirement for promotion within the civil service, signifying the Governor’s unwavering push for smart governance powered by people and technology.*

Partners such as *Tech4Dev, Microsoft, Future Ready Academy Limited, and the FCDO* continue to play critical roles, alongside the tireless team at the *Enugu SME Center / Office of Digital Economy, led by Mr. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and SMEs / Director-General, Enugu SME Center*, with coordination by *Ndubuisi Edeh, the Digital Literacy Program Lead*.

*_“This is not just a box-checking exercise. It’s part of our Governor’s clear, people-first mandate — to build a future where everyone can thrive and contribute, no matter their physical ability,”__*

— Mr. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and SMEs / Director-General, Enugu SME Center

As Enugu positions itself as a model for digital transformation across Nigeria, this PWD-focused initiative stands as a beacon — proving that inclusion is not an afterthought but a cornerstone of sustainable development.
