President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate release of N16.7 billion for the reconstruction of the Mokwa Bridge in Niger State, which was destroyed by flooding in May 2025.
The bridge, a vital transport link in the region, had been rendered unusable following the severe flooding, causing significant disruptions to both commercial and commuter traffic. The release of funds underscores the federal government’s commitment to restoring critical infrastructure and ensuring the free flow of goods and people across affected areas.
Officials involved in the project have confirmed that reconstruction work will commence immediately, with strict adherence to timelines to restore connectivity and prevent further economic setbacks.
