...As Isiuzo Mayor,House Member,Ikem people call Gov Mbah a Promise Keeper.
Barely three weeks after the the people of Ebia in Ikem Community were promised a potable water by Governor Peter Mbah,the Community and Social Development Agency CSDA under Monday Diamond Ani swung into action and constructed a mega water project through water harvesting, anchored with treatment plant and all water provision facilities for the people of Ebia in Ikem community of Isiuzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The milestone is a striking demonstration of how community-driven development can swiftly transform identified needs into tangible benefits, bringing relief and renewed hope to rural residents.
The timely delivery of the project reflects the responsive leadership and development commitment of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whose prompt response through the provision of the project budget envelope facilitated its execution within a remarkably short period. The intervention is expected to significantly improve access to clean and potable water, reduce the daily burden of searching for water, promote improved hygiene and sanitation, and protect residents, particularly women, children and vulnerable groups, from water-related health challenges.
The successful completion of the project also highlights the dedication and commitment of the Community Project Management Committee (CPMC), whose cooperation, sense of ownership and active participation contributed to translating the community's identified priority into reality. Their efforts reinforce the importance of community participation, transparency, accountability and collective responsibility in ensuring that development interventions are properly executed and sustained for the benefit of all.
The commissioning ceremony attracted an impressive gathering of dignitaries and stakeholders, including the Executive Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Brendan Emeka Ani; the Member Representing Isi-Uzo State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon Gabriel Eze; Hon Azubuike Onah; HRM Igwe Felix Ogbuke of Ikem Community,the President General of Ikem Community,Women,Men,Youth and children of Ikem in Isi-Uzo LGA.
They all expressed joy and happiness over the project, eulogizing the Governor and referring to Him as a Promise Keeping Governor. Because for decades, the Ikem community have suffered water scarcity but this water intervention has ended their suffering and brought succour to them.
Their presence also,added colour and significance to the occasion, reflecting the collective support of political leaders, traditional institutions and community stakeholders for grassroots development. The commissioning stands as another testament to Governor Mbah's commitment to bringing essential amenities closer to the people through CSDA, demonstrating that when government responds promptly and communities take ownership, meaningful development can become a reality within months.
