History has a peculiar way of unmasking pretenders, yet some still attempt to dress a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The recent social media post by Emmanuel Eze, attempting to paint Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah as a man of "integrity" and a "good party faithful," is not just a lie, it is a clear insult to the collective intelligence of the Enugu people. While Eze waxes poetic about Agballah’s supposed transformation of the APC, the reality is a stark, ugly portrait of a man whose only true allegiance is to his own stomach.
To read Eze’s defense is to witness a masterclass in political delusion. He speaks of "zero tolerance to political moles," yet describes a man who has perfected the art of the inside job. As Chineme Idike so incisively noted, Ugochukwu Agballah is not a leader; he is the "Judas of Enugu State," a serial betrayer and blackmailer whose career is a trail of broken trusts and character assassinations.
The Architecture of a Serial Betrayal
The list of those Agballah has sacrificed at the altar of his own ambition is long and distinguished. According to Idike, his "Judas" resume includes the betrayal of:
* Chimaroke Nnamani
* Sullivan Chime
* Gbazuagu Nweke Gbazuagu
* Senator Ayogu Eze
* Senator Ken Nnamani
* Princess Ada Ogbu
* Okwesilieze Nwodo
* Chief Uche Nnaji
The betrayal of Chief Uche Nnaji, however, stands out as a particularly egregious act of ingratitude. It was Nnaji who single-handedly sustained Agballah’s position as the APC Enugu State Chairman. It was obvious that Barr Agballah feigns a loyalty that we now know was purely transactional.
Ugochukwu Agballah’s political compass is guided solely by the scent of power and personal gain. His "loyalty" to Chief Nnaji lasted exactly as long as Nnaji held the keys to influence his stomach and needs. The second the table turned, specifically after Chief Nnaji resigned his position as Minister for Science and Technology, Agballah didn’t just walk away; he not only betrayed Chief Nnaji, he made himself available for blackmail against a man who offered him more than what he asked for.
This is the hallmark of a political mercenary: staying when the going is good and fleeing the moment the winds of fortune shift. To Emmanuel Eze, who claims Agballah "doesn't involve himself with any form of misconduct," one must ask: is there any greater misconduct than biting the hand that fed you?.
Emmanuel Eze’s attempt to lionize Agballah is a mockery of the very concept of integrity. Agballah is the exact opposite of the "great man" Eze describes. He is a man who should cover his face in shame for using betrayal as a ladder and blackmail as a tool.
As Chineme Idike rightly concluded, no meaningful individual would allow such a person into any serious project; he is fit only to make noise at public events, never to be part of real decision-making. The "juicy ground" Eze speaks of is nothing more than the spoils of a man who traded his soul for a seat at a new table.
The people of Enugu see through the smoke and mirrors. Ugochukwu Agballah is not a transformer; he is a political opportunist whose legacy will be defined not by what he built, but by those he betrayed
