The Women Support Women for Human Empowerment and Mentorship Initiative (WOSUWO) and one of its major stakeholders, Hon. Princess Dr. Edith Ugwuanyi, have thrown their full weight behind the administration of the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, praising what they described as an unprecedented wave of transformation across the state in barely three years of his leadership.
Princess Ugwuanyi, who recently returned from the United States of America, made the declaration while hosting WOSUWO women in Enugu, where she expressed deep admiration for Governor Mbah’s visionary and results-driven governance. She stated that having closely followed developments in Enugu State, both from abroad and since her return, she could confidently attest that Ndi Enugu have never had it this good.
According to her, the scale and speed of infrastructural renewal under Governor Mbah are not only impressive but historic, noting that roads, public facilities, and critical infrastructure are springing up simultaneously across the state. She remarked that the pace of development has reached a point where one could easily miss a familiar road due to the sheer volume of new roads and urban renewal projects changing the landscape of Enugu.
Princess Ugwuanyi, a prominent stakeholder in Igboeze South Local Government Area and the entire Enugu North Senatorial Zone, vowed to deploy her influence, capacity, and resources in full support of Governor Mbah’s administration. She described the Governor’s leadership as innovative, courageous, and people-focused, adding that his governance style reflects a deep commitment to sustainable development and the collective welfare of the people.
She further urged women and the general populace of Enugu State to rally behind the Governor by actively supporting his policies, particularly through the payment of taxes, which she described as a civic responsibility that directly translates into development for the people. According to her, intensified sensitization and public awareness will further strengthen citizens’ understanding of governance and accelerate the dividends of democracy across the state.
Looking ahead, Princess Ugwuanyi expressed strong confidence in the political future of the Mbah given his performance, credibility, and visible impact on the lives of the people.
Also speaking at the gathering, the Executive Director of the Heroine Women Foundation and President of WOSUWO, Ambassador Mrs. Onyii Mamah, who is widely regarded as a women development expert, thanked Princess Ugwuanyi for her steadfast support and leadership. Ambassador Mamah equally commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for redefining governance in Enugu State and creating an enabling environment where women are increasingly empowered and meaningfully included in development processes.
She described the Governor’s achievements as a clear reflection of purposeful leadership, noting that women-focused advocacy groups such as WOSUWO remain fully aligned with policies and programmes that promote equity, development, and good governance. Ambassador Mamah emphasized that the visible transformation in Enugu State serves as motivation for women to play more active roles in governance, community development, and civic engagement.
The event, which attracted other notable women leaders and stakeholders, was marked by unity, optimism, and renewed commitment to the progress of Enugu State. Participants described the gathering as a strong statement of women’s solidarity and confidence in Governor Mbah’s leadership, reaffirming their resolve to support an administration they believe is reshaping Enugu into a model of modern governance.
The resounding message from the WOSUWO women and their stakeholders was clear: Enugu State is on a transformative path, and women are ready to stand firmly behind a Governor whose actions, they say, have matched his promises.
