Chief Uche Nnaji Nwakaibie has been described as a leading political voice whose presence, supporters say, has helped strengthen opposition politics in Enugu State by promoting engagement, scrutiny and accountability in governance.

In a statement circulated on Thursday, the commentator, Eloka, praised Nwakaibie as “the only man that truly made Enugu State look like there is really something like an opposition,” arguing that his style of politics has drawn attention to alternative views and offered citizens a platform to question policies and demand better outcomes.

Eloka also alleged that some political interests, sensing the momentum of political change, were making efforts to “distort” public perception and resist what he called a growing desire among residents for a new direction. He maintained that attempts to misrepresent the opposition or undermine its message would not prevail.

Using faith-based language to underscore his optimism, Eloka said power ultimately belongs to God and expressed confidence that “evil will not overtake righteousness,” adding that “darkness has never overtaken light.” He described the message as a call for hope and perseverance, insisting that Enugu would “surely rise again.”

The statement concluded with a strong endorsement of Chief Nwakaibie, presenting him as the preferred option for supporters who believe his emergence represents a turning point in the state’s political landscape.

While no official response was issued at the time of filing this report, the comments have continued to circulate widely, reflecting ongoing debate over leadership, opposition strength and the future direction of Enugu State.
