Joy and renewed hope have returned to Ihenyi Agarama Autonomous Community, Eha-Amufu, following the restoration of electricity and installation of street lights across the community, ending months of darkness that had disrupted daily life and economic activities.
Speaking on behalf of Amaegbu community, Mr. Ebe Ogbonna poured heartfelt appreciation on the President General of Ihenyi Agarama Autonomous Community, Hon. Chief Charles Ilodi, describing his intervention as timely, people-focused, and deeply impactful.
According to him, the PG’s determined efforts ensured that electricity now reaches virtually every part of Ihenyi community, while newly installed street lights have brought safety, visibility, and renewed confidence to residents.
“For months, our community was in darkness. Today, light has returned because of purposeful leadership. On behalf of Amaegbu, we sincerely appreciate our PG, Hon. Chief Charles Ilodi, for not resting until this problem was solved. May God give him more kindness, strength, and grace to do even more, in Jesus’ name,” Mr. Ogbonna said.
Residents say the intervention has already transformed social life, improved security at night, and boosted small businesses that depend on electricity to survive. Many described the project as a clear demonstration of leadership rooted in service rather than words.
Hon. Chief Charles Ilodi, who hails from Ehamufu Ward IV, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, has continued to earn recognition for his consistent commitment to grassroots development. Beyond his role as President General, he brings a wealth of political and organizational experience to community leadership. He previously served as a Member of the Ehamufu West Development Center (2018–2021), Deputy Director, Mainstream Media, Peter Mbah Campaign Organisation (Enugu East Senatorial Zone) in 2023, State Youth Leader of the New Face of Enugu Movement (2022–2023), and was a PDP Chairmanship Aspirant in Isi-Uzo LGA in 2024.
Community leaders and youths describe him as a bridge-builder whose leadership style blends vision, accessibility, and action. Many believe the electricity and streetlight projects are not only about infrastructure but about restoring dignity and hope to the people of Ihenyi Agarama.
While light now shines across the community, residents say the achievement stands as a powerful reminder of what focused leadership can deliver when driven by genuine concern for the people.
