In a moving expression of appreciation and solidarity, the Enugu State ALGON Chairperson and wife of the Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Council, Mrs. Rita Edeh, has showered glowing commendations on the wife of the Governor of Enugu State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, for her rare display of compassion and humanity through the construction and donation of a new home to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Chisom Odo of Amachara Ovoko, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.
Speaking on the heels of the commissioning ceremony held on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, Mrs. Edeh described the First Lady’s act as “a reflection of true motherhood and genuine service to humanity.” She extolled Mrs. Mbah for embodying empathy, purpose, and the vision of Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, which places people’s welfare and human development at the forefront of governance.
According to Mrs. Edeh, “Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, has once again demonstrated that leadership, when driven by love and compassion, has the power to transform lives and restore hope to families in need. The newly built home for the Odo quintuplets’ family is not just a house, but a symbol of kindness, faith, and the nurturing heart of a mother to all.”
She further congratulated the Enugu First Lady on her well-deserved traditional chieftaincy title, “Ife Ka Ugo”, conferred by the Enugu North Zonal Traditional Rulers Council, describing it as a fitting recognition of her tireless commitment to uplifting the downtrodden, promoting cultural pride, and strengthening family values.
Mrs. Edeh, who joined other dignitaries, including lawmakers, traditional rulers, and council chairmen at the historic ceremony, emphasized that Mrs. Mbah’s humanitarian gesture continues to inspire women across Enugu State to lead with purpose and compassion.
“As women leaders, we take pride in seeing Her Excellency redefine what it means to serve with a mother’s heart. Her grace, humility, and unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of our people serve as a guiding light to all of us,” Mrs. Edeh added.
She reaffirmed her support for the First Lady’s initiatives that promote family welfare, maternal health, and child protection across Enugu communities, noting that Mrs. Mbah’s approach to humanitarian service has rekindled a culture of empathy and collective responsibility in governance.
Mrs. Edeh concluded by extending heartfelt congratulations to Her Excellency on both achievements, the commissioning of the quintuplets’ family home and the conferment of her chieftaincy title, stating that “they are twin honours that mirror a woman of grace, vision, and divine purpose.”
With gestures like these, Enugu’s First Lady continues to embody the spirit of love in leadership, building bridges of hope, inspiring women, and shaping a legacy that will endure for generations.
