...Locals described the event as a “new dawn”, expressing optimism that the road will stimulate commerce, enhance safety, and significantly improve the quality of life for residents. The project reaffirmed Dr. Vita Ndu’s reputation as “a leader of action, keeping promises, and transforming communities.”

History was made in Ezeagu Local Government Area on Monday, September 29, 2025, as Executive Chairman Dr. Vita Ndu fulfilled a major campaign promise by completing the 1.6km Agba Umana–Ugwunwamgbara–Ebenebe asphalt road.

The road was officially commissioned by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, represented at the ceremony by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia.

Speaking with pride, Dr. Ndu stated that the road was the sole request made by the people of Agba Umana during his campaign, expressing delight at fulfilling their wish.

“The people of Agba Umana asked for just one thing—this road. Today, I am glad that promise has been kept,” he said.

Chief Okechukwu Anthony Oha, Secretary-General of the Agba Umana Town Union, described the project as a life-saving intervention, noting that prior to its construction, the road was notoriously dangerous and prone to kidnappings.

The newly completed road, measuring 8 meters in width with a 40mm thickness and equipped with five cross culverts, connects Ezeagu in Enugu State to Awka, Anambra State, facilitating commerce and improving access to markets for perishable agricultural products.

Dr. Ndu praised Governor Mbah for his visionary leadership, noting that the state’s development agenda inspired him to align local projects with the broader goals of economic growth and infrastructure improvement.

Commissioning the project, Prof. Onyia lauded Dr. Ndu’s achievements, emphasizing that Ndi Ezeagu had made the right choice in electing him. He also highlighted ongoing state initiatives, including Smart Green Schools and Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centers across all 20 wards of Ezeagu.

The commissioning ceremony drew a large gathering of dignitaries, including Deputy Chairman Chief Mrs. Nkiru Ugwuagu, Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Innocent Okozor, community leaders, clergy, party stalwarts, project consultants, and residents of Agba Umana.

Locals described the event as a “new dawn” for Ezeagu, expressing optimism that the road will stimulate commerce, enhance safety, and significantly improve the quality of life for residents. The project reaffirmed Dr. Vita Ndu’s reputation as “a leader of action, keeping promises, and transforming communities.”
