The Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Engr. Jude Asogwa Chinedu, has reportedly been invited to the former SARS Office in Guzape, Abuja, for questioning over an alleged serious criminal matter.
According to information circulating online, the council boss and two of his appointees were requested to appear before the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Department, at the Intelligence Technical Team (ITT) unit for interrogation. Sources suggest he may be detained as part of the ongoing investigation.
The nature of the allegation has not been officially disclosed, but it was gathered that a political associate, identified as Emma Nwangwu, has been in detention in Abuja since last week in connection with the same case.
As of press time, neither the police authorities nor the Nsukka Local Government Council has issued an official statement on the development.
