In a bold move to redefine public transportation and improve urban mobility, the Enugu State Government has officially released the approved routes and fares for the newly launched State Rapid Bus Service. The service, designed to provide safe, reliable, and comfortable travel experiences, will operate from the five newly commissioned ultramodern transport terminals across the state.

According to the schedule, commuters departing from Gariki Terminal will pay ₦500 to Agbani, ₦900 to Abakpa, ₦500 to Holy Ghost, and ₦800 to Emene. From the Holy Ghost Terminal, fares include ₦500 to Emene, ₦900 to Agbani/4 Corners, ₦500 to Gariki, ₦500 to Abakpa, ₦2,500 to Nsukka, ₦500 to Ninth Mile, and ₦1,200 to Udi/Oji River. Similarly, passengers from the Abakpa Terminal will pay ₦900 to Gariki, ₦500 to Holy Ghost, ₦2,000 to Nsukka, and ₦1,500 to Agbani. The Nsukka Terminal will commence with a direct ₦2,000 route to Abakpa, while the UNTH Loading Point will operate to Abakpa for ₦900. In addition, a special service from UNTH Old Site to UNTH New Site will cost ₦600.

The government also announced that new routes will be rolled out within the first week of operation, including Holy Ghost to Gariki via Zik’s Avenue, Independence Layout, and Camp; as well as Holy Ghost to Abakpa and Emene. More routes are expected to follow as the service expands. To enhance convenience, the Ije Card has been introduced as the official means of payment. The card will be available for free at all terminals during the first week of operations, after which commuters can load and top-up their cards through ticketing agents stationed across the terminals.

Highlighting the comfort features of the buses, the government assured commuters that their “relaxation and comfort shall be our watchword,” noting that all buses are fully air-conditioned and equipped with free WiFi to ensure passengers enjoy a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.
