The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on Monday, April 7, 2025, projected Enugu as a top-tier destination for global investment during a high-level Governors’ Roundtable at the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit (CTIS), held at the prestigious Mansion House in London.
The summit, organized by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), brought together heads of government, ministers, policymakers, and over 400 delegates from more than 40 countries. Governor Mbah took center stage as he led discussions at the roundtable focused on unlocking investment opportunities in Enugu and Lagos States.
Coming on the heels of CWEIC’s earlier announcement regarding Governor Mbah’s pivotal role at the summit, the session proved to be a strategic platform for Enugu State to engage with top investors, multilateral financial institutions, and influential private sector leaders from across the Commonwealth.
Governor Mbah used the opportunity to present Enugu’s economic transformation agenda and the state’s readiness to attract foreign direct investments across critical sectors such as infrastructure, power, agriculture, ICT, logistics, education, and tourism. His presentation highlighted the state’s enabling investment climate, ongoing structural reforms, and targeted efforts to position Enugu as a regional hub for business and innovation.
The governor’s leadership at the summit not only strengthened the state’s international visibility but also reaffirmed its commitment to economic growth through strategic partnerships and private sector engagement. His presence underscored Enugu’s determination to play a prominent role in global economic discussions and drive inward investment to support its development goals.
The roundtable featured leading institutions including Africa Exim Bank, British International Investment, Standard Chartered, KPMG, Crown Agents Bank, Acre Capital, and M&G Investments, all of whom engaged with the state’s delegation on possible areas of collaboration.
Governor Mbah’s participation follows the strategic partnership agreement signed between Enugu State and CWEIC in December 2024, designed to accelerate trade and investment inflows into the state. His proactive engagement at CTIS 2025 signals the administration’s sustained commitment to leveraging international platforms to advance Enugu’s economic interests.
