A popular “one chance” syndicate operating in Enugu metropolis has been exposed after a courageous eyewitness recorded the group in action along Agbani Road, causing widespread outrage on social media and renewed calls for swift police intervention.
The criminals, operating with a dark green Toyota Camry bearing the plate number “carry 2.2”, were reportedly attempting to lure an unsuspecting young lady into their vehicle early this morning when their plans were thwarted by the vigilance of a passerby.
According to the eyewitness account shared via video footage, one of the robbers had disguised as a bystander and was engaging the lady in conversation while the car was parked nearby. Their objective was to deceive and lure her into the vehicle, a tactic the gang is allegedly known for in several parts of Enugu.
Sensing danger and recognizing the syndicate’s familiar operation style, the eyewitness began recording the incident and firmly confronted them. In the video, he is heard warning the gang members to release the lady or risk public outrage and mob action.
Faced with resistance and the growing attention, the criminals quickly released the young woman. The disguised member swiftly jumped into the waiting car, and the gang sped off.
The video, which clearly captured the faces of the suspects and the vehicle's registration details, has since gone viral, with many urging residents to share widely until it reaches the appropriate security authorities.
Residents of Enugu, especially those living or commuting through Agbani Road, are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to the police. This incident once again raises concern about the persistence of “one chance” operations and the need for increased patrols and surveillance in urban centers.
