Upon assuming office, Hon. Barr. Ezugwu recognized that security was central to the socio-economic revitalization of Uzo-Uwani. He took decisive steps to stabilize the situation, mindful that peace is the foundation for every meaningful progress.
His administration reinvigorated the local security structure, empowering and reorganizing community-based vigilante groups to work more effectively in collaboration with conventional security agencies. Hon. Barr. Ezugwu also placed strong emphasis on intelligence gathering, community surveillance, and trust-building between security operatives and local residents.
Through these sustained efforts, notable progress has been made in improving security across Uzo-Uwani that have led to crime free yelutide- Christmas & New Year,strategic engagement of farmers & Herders , clearing and grading of farm access and major roads to stem kidnapping and provision of equipment /logistics for the Neighbourhood Watch Groups, and state government intervention/ support through the deployment of 5 DRS teams with AI enabled patrol vehicles, with plans to establish security operational base at Ukwu akpu,Uvuru - Ukpata - Umulokpa road.
While recent unfortunate incidents, including isolated attacks and farm destructions, have posed fresh challenges, Hon. Barr. Ezugwu remains steadfast in his commitment to restoring full normalcy. His administration continues to work tirelessly, ensuring that farmers can return safely to their fields and that the spirit of resilience among the people remains unbroken, even as targeted measures are being intensified to secure every community.
