Enugu Commences Clamp Down on Unauthorized Native Doctors, Fake Traditional Medicine Practitioners to Eliminate Fraudulent Individuals Posing as Traditional Health Experts

The Enugu State Association of Traditional Medicine Practitioners (ESATMP) has announced its plan to commence a regulatory exercise aimed at checkmating quack doctors, fake traditional medicine practitioners, and unauthorized bone setters within the state.

In an official notice displayed on a vehicle, ESATMP called on traditional medicine practitioners, traditional bone setters, dealers in all traditional medical materials, and those operating in the market under the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) to ensure their registration at the designated office located at Prison Hall Roundabout, Kingsway Road, Enugu.

The exercise aims to sanitize the sector by eliminating fraudulent individuals posing as traditional health experts. The association emphasized that all traditional doctors in Enugu are unified under one regulatory umbrella.

ESATMP also reaffirmed its affiliation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Enugu State, highlighting its commitment to upholding professional standards in traditional medicine practice. Members of the public and practitioners seeking further information were advised to contact the provided enquiry line: 08068544811.

The association urged all practitioners to comply promptly, stating that "the earlier, the better," in ensuring that only certified and recognized professionals continue their practice within the state.
