The Trump administration is considering implementing new travel restrictions affecting citizens from up to 43 countries. According to reports, an internal memo proposes dividing these nations into three categories—red, orange, and yellow—each subject to varying levels of visa restrictions.

Red List: This category includes 11 countries whose citizens would face a complete visa suspension. The nations are Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.

Orange List: Comprising 10 countries, the orange list would see sharp visa restrictions. The countries are Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan.

Yellow List: This group consists of 22 countries that have been given 60 days to address specific security concerns to avoid potential travel restrictions. The nations include Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe.

This proposal is part of an ongoing effort to enhance national security by addressing concerns related to inadequate passport security and insufficient traveler data sharing. The policy is still under review and has not yet received final approval.
