After Jonathan won the 2011 Presidential Election, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike - CON, GSSRS who was the Minister of State for Education remained committed in his duties as a minister, loyal to his party and dedicated to his Principal, the President.
Rotimi Amechi and other aggrieved Governors formed the NewPDP because Amechi was removed as the Chairman of PDP Governor's Forum. Wike refused to follow Amechi whom he once served as Chief of Staff.
Amechi joined Tinubu, Buhari, Chinedu and Rochas Okorocha to form the APC. Their sole aim was to Destroy PDP, Wike's party and remove Jonathan, Wike's boss.
Few months later, PDP big wigs like Atiku Abubakar who was Vice President under PDP and lost the 2010 PDP Primaries to Jonathan, dumped PDP and joined APC.
Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who was Speaker of the House of Reps under PDP, also decamped to APC.
Dino Melaye , a Reps member then under PDP, joined APC.
Many more of them congregated and what was the aims and objectives? To DESTROY PDP.
2015 came and they succeeded in removing Jonathan and destroyed PDP.
The life of PDP was in Intensive Care Unit when Wike, who was battling for his seat, as Dakuku Peterside, backed by Amechi, Tambuwal, Saraki and all of APC, Wike stepped in and organized a National Working Committee meeting in which they said they need a temporary National Chairman, someone from the North, who also had money that could prevent the party from giving up the ghost.
Amodu Sheriff stepped up and Wike endorsed him. At this point, most PDP faithfuls were being persecuted by Atiku's APC. These PDP faithfuls included Olisah Metuh, Sullivan Chime, Dasuki, Orubebe, Diezani, etc. They were EFCC's customers for a long time.
After Wike had won his case at the Supreme Court and his seat as Governor was secure, he came back to check on his party and realized that Sheriff had not only ran the party to the ground but was directly working for APC to kill off the party.
Nyesom Wike and Sen Ike Ekweremadu took it upon themselves and fought Amodu Sheriff tooth and nail till the final Supreme Court Victory that removed Sheriff and installed Ahmed Makarfi as National Chairman. Makarfi would later contest for President, leaving Uche Secondus to become acting Chairman and later Chairman.
After Wike and Ekweremadu brought PDP back to life and good health, Atiku, Tambuwal, Saraki, Dino Melaye and all those who jointly destroyed PDP, Wike's party and put it in the ICU, all came back. Most of them contested for Senate.
Nyesom Wike, Ekweremadu and other PDP faithfuls allowed them to come in and even ZONED THE TICKET TO THE NORTH.
Atiku clinched the ticket and lost to Buhari.
Wike remained the standing voice of the opposition, challenging, criticizing and daring Buhari and APC every step of the way. He led the charge for restructuring and tax reform.
Barely a year after losing out at the polls and Supreme Court, Atiku began his infamous Handshake across the Niger, indicating that he wants to contest for elections again.
There were also insinuations that the powers that be in Aso Rock wanted powers to remain in the North.
Wike once again, stepped up and teamed up with the now late Rotimi Akeredolu, and they rallied the Southern Nigeria Governors and there was the Asaba Declaration, that the next president of Nigeria must emerge from the South.
While Wike was busy advocating for the Southern President, he didn't know that Atiku had taken over his party, the PDP. And before anybody could say Jack, the Presidential Nomination Form had been sold to Atiku, a Northerner.
Peter Obi and others ran away from the Party, carrying a large chunk of Southern votes with them.
Wike contested and lost the PDP Primaries which enraged him.
After various back and forth, Wike accepted to support the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on one condition.
That the Chairmanship of the Party must come back to the South.
A very simple condition. That there was no way both the President and National Chairman could come from the same region.
Atiku Abubakar REFUSED. He along with Tambuwal, Dino Melaye and several other people that had earlier in 2015, sent PDP to ICU, all refused and said, to hell with Wike.
It's on record that while Wike was moving everywhere and shouting, Atiku never agreed to sit down and have a meeting with Wike until the election day.
Wike worked against Atiku in the Presidential Election and Atiku lost AGAIN.
Atiku, Tambuwal, Saraki, Dino Melaye and all the famous destroyers of PDP then came together and backed Wike's enstranged godson, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to dismantle Wike and bury him politically.
Since then, Wike has been fighting everybody and everything that is trying to retire him and kill his political career.
So far, there has been many casualties.
Peace in Rivers State and Unity in the PDP are all parts of these casualties.
The title of this piece is HOW WIKE IS DESTROYING PDP, But the real poser is, DOES ANYONE HAVE THE MORAL JUSTIFICATION TO ACCUSE WIKE OF DESTROYING PDP?
