The Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. Chukwuma Ogbodo, has joined millions of Nigerians in congratulating the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on the conferment of a Doctor of Human Letters (DHL) by the prestigious Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In a statement issued by Hon. Ogbodo, he lauded Governor Mbah’s unwavering commitment to education, noting that his administration has transformed Enugu State into a hub for learning and academic excellence. He emphasized that the governor’s passion for education, particularly in exponential learning, has positioned the state as a leading destination for quality education in Nigeria.
Hon. Ogbodo, who accompanied the governor to receive the award, remarked that Governor Mbah has continued to garner numerous prestigious recognitions since assuming office, a testament to his exceptional performance within a short period.
"Governor Mbah’s love and penchant for education are evident in the ongoing construction of Smart Green Schools across the 260 political wards in Enugu State. This groundbreaking initiative is not only commendable but also an intimidating feat that sets a new standard in educational development," Hon. Ogbodo stated.
He further highlighted the governor’s commitment to massive investment in the education sector, referencing the N320 billion budgetary allocation to education, which represents 33% of the total 2025 budget—a figure surpassing the N214.6 billion allocated to works and infrastructure (22%).
"This prioritization of education underscores Governor Mbah’s vision for a knowledge-driven society. His dedication to human capital development is truly inspiring, and we are proud of his strides in transforming the state," he added.
