Hon. Sunday Umeha, the Honourable Member representing the good people of Udi-Ezeagu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, has announced that he is currently in consultations regarding a potential defection from the Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement, made via his verified Facebook account on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, has raised eyebrows across political circles. In his message to constituents, Hon. Umeha cited the ongoing leadership crisis within the Labour Party as one of the key reasons prompting his discussions with the APC. He assured his constituents that his primary focus remains on fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Udi-Ezeagu.
“I have participated in a consultative meeting with the APC Progressive Governors Forum, the National Working Committee, and the APC State Chairmen,” Umeha revealed. According to him, the meeting was "productive" and marked by a "robust engagement" with key figures in the APC.
