A member of the House of Representatives, representing Java/Zango Kataf Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Amos Gwamna Magaji, has officially defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Magaji, who is currently serving his second term in the House, cited internal conflicts within the PDP as his primary reason for the party switch. He is the Chairman of the House Committee on Health Care Services and leads the Kaduna caucus in the House. Additionally, Magaji serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Special Ad-hoc Committee on Restructuring Government Agencies, which is tasked with reviewing the Stephen Oronsaye report.

Magaji has also been involved in important committees on defense, police affairs, and constitutional review throughout his time in the legislature.

This marks the third defection of a PDP member to the APC since the inauguration of the 10th Assembly, following the moves by Chris Nkwonta and Eriatheke Ibori-Suenu.
