BREAKING: Enugu Man Elected NHS Governor in UK

It was a historic moment in the United Kingdom as Chinedu Okoro, affectionately known as Larry Popo, was on 24th February 2025 elected as Governor of the Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the East Midlands, United Kingdom.

The NHS Foundation, a public health service in the UK, held its general election to elect a new Governor who will continue to provide free health services to almost the entire population.

In a landslide victory, Comrade Chinedu Okoro, a Nigerian from Uvuru-Agada in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, historically emerged winner of the epic race, after defeating five other contestants.

A compassionate and visionary leader, Mr. Okoro has consistently demonstrated unwavering support and commitment to the well-being of the Uzo-Uwani community in Enugu State, Nigeria. His dedication to innovation and community development has been deeply appreciated by those he serves both at home and abroad.

His generosity continues to shine through impactful contributions, especially in uplifting those in need. Notably, during the festive seasons, he has distributed essential items such as rice, wrappers, and cash to widows and underprivileged individuals in the Adada Development Centre of Uzo Uwani Local Government Area, ensuring they partake in the joy of the celebrations.

Today, his kindness, dedication, and hard work have been rightfully acknowledged with his election to the Council of Governors. In this role, he will represent the interests of members and the public, hold Non-Executive Directors accountable, and contribute to the Trust's strategic direction.
