A Ghanaian student, Alfred Okyere, who relocated to Canada just four months ago, has been murdered while working at DSI Underground Canada, a mining supply company.
CBC News reports that 23-year-old Alfred came to Saskatoon, Canada, from Ghana with plans to build a better life. His friend, Alexander Osei-Owusu, said that Okyere had been living with his sister and recently took a part-time job at DSI Underground Canada, located in the city's north industrial area.
Osei-Owusu explained that, like many students, Okyere was looking for work to support his education. He was tragically stabbed by a co-worker on Monday night.
Police were called to the facility at 8 p.m. CST. A statement from the police described how they found the 23-year-old victim suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
