Security operatives have successfully arrested three Fulani kidnappers following a failed abduction attempt in Odumodu Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State. The incident occurred after a local man, identified as Mr. Chikamso, was lured to a meeting with the kidnappers, who had contacted him with an offer to sell cattle.
Upon his arrival at the designated location, Chikamso was ambushed by four members of the kidnapping gang, armed with AK-47 rifles and other sophisticated weapons. As the attackers attempted to grab him, Chikamso swiftly ran into the nearby bush, narrowly escaping capture.
The local security forces, who had been alerted to the situation, quickly responded and arrived at the scene. As they engaged in a firefight with the armed kidnappers, several of the suspects managed to flee the area. However, three of the kidnappers were apprehended by the security personnel and are currently in custody.
The authorities have confirmed that the situation is under control and that investigations into the full extent of the gang’s operations are ongoing.
