The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed ₦3,179,000 to 22 students of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State, under its student loan scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The college formally acknowledged receipt of the funds in a letter dated July 31, 2026, confirming that the latest payment was released on July 23, 2026, under the sixth batch of the NELFUND student-loan disbursement.

In the acknowledgement letter, the college management expressed appreciation to NELFUND for extending the student financing initiative to its beneficiaries, describing the intervention as an important step towards easing the financial burden on parents and guardians.

The institution noted that the scheme would help reduce the pressure associated with financing students’ education while promoting wider access to quality tertiary education in Nigeria.

The college also commended NELFUND’s leadership and staff for their continued commitment to transparency and efficiency in administering the programme.

The latest disbursement announcement states that the ₦3.179 million covers the statutory charges of all verified applicants included in the payment, helping the 22 beneficiaries meet their institutional obligations with reduced financial pressure.

The intervention further demonstrates the reach of the Federal Government’s student-loan initiative, which is designed to reduce financial barriers to higher education and enable eligible students to pursue their academic goals.

For the beneficiaries at the Umunze-based institution, the support offers meaningful financial relief and renewed hope of continuing their studies without education-related costs becoming an overwhelming obstacle.
