The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has received a high-powered delegation of the Grassroot Mobilization for Peter Mbah (GMPM) at his country home in Owo, Nkanu East Local Government Area, in a powerful display of grassroots solidarity and renewed commitment to his administration’s people-driven development agenda.

The delegation, which cut across the six local government areas of Enugu North Senatorial Zone, comprised Ward Coordinators, Special Advisers (Political), social media influencers, and the Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Samuel Enyanwuma. The courtesy visit was led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Grassroot Mobilization (North), Hon. Chukwuemeka Maxwell Ojobor, who described the gathering as a reaffirmation of grassroots belief in Governor Mbah’s leadership and vision for a modern and prosperous Enugu State.

Addressing the delegation, Governor Mbah expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the sustained support of the GMPM, noting that the turnout was a clear testament to the confidence reposed in his administration by the grassroots. He highlighted the steady progress recorded by his government across key sectors and disclosed that more impactful projects were set to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Of particular significance, the Governor announced that the long-awaited 32-kilometre Nsukka–Ibagwa–Ogrute Road project would be flagged off this January, describing it as a major intervention that would improve connectivity, boost economic activities, and ease movement within Enugu North and beyond. He thanked the GMPM for choosing to mark the New Year with him and reassured the group of his unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and sustained engagement with the people.

Speaking earlier, Hon. Ojobor commended Governor Mbah for his focused, visionary, and transformative leadership, stressing that the visible achievements of the administration provided the inspiration for the formation of the Grassroot Mobilization for Peter Mbah. He explained that the platform was established to strengthen grassroots engagement, project the administration’s achievements, and amplify its policy direction across communities. He also acknowledged the support and encouragement of the Special Adviser (Political) to the Governor, Chief Frank Anioma, Ezesinachi, as well as the immediate past Chairman of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Engr. Ejike Itodo, whose contributions, he noted, had continued to energize the group.

In his contribution, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Speechwriting, Hon. ACJ Favour Amuka, emphasized that the GMPM was deliberately structured around credibility, capacity, and grassroots influence. He disclosed that the 102 coordinators across Enugu North Senatorial Zone were carefully selected individuals of proven integrity, strong community standing, and demonstrated ability to mobilize and influence at the local level. Hon. Amuka further noted that the GMPM operates in close synergy with local government leaderships, a factor that informed the active participation of all six Special Advisers (Political) representing the local government areas in Enugu North. He reaffirmed the group’s readiness to sustain grassroots mobilisation in alignment with the development vision of the Mbah administration. Hon. Amuka also serves as the GMPM Coordinator for Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area.

The visit ended on a high note of unity, renewed confidence, and shared resolve, as members of the GMPM pledged continued support for the policies, programmes, and development strides of the Enugu State Government under the leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
