Enugu State has again taken a bold leap in youth empowerment and digital innovation as over 120 young people graduated on Friday from the Enugu VSAT Training Program, an initiative powered by the Enugu SME Center / Office of Digital Economy (now Enugu MSamE & Startup Agency) in partnership with NigComSat.
The closing ceremony marked a defining moment for skills development in the state, as each graduate not only completed intensive hands-on training in satellite broadband configuration, installation, and field diagnostics, but also received industry-standard toolkits to activate their careers immediately.
But beyond the skills and certifications, what set this event apart was its powerful reaffirmation of gender inclusion. Women were not merely present, they were leading, breaking barriers, and proving that the digital economy is strongest when built with balance, equity, and shared opportunity. Their outstanding performance throughout the program underscored the Mbah administration’s commitment to mainstreaming women in technical and STEM-driven growth sectors.
From configuring VSAT systems for rural connectivity to troubleshooting field operations, the newly certified technicians, both women and men are now positioned to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s expanding digital infrastructure.
This initiative is more than a training program; it is Governor Peter Mbah’s Digital Vision in action a vision anchored on skills, empowerment, and inclusive innovation. By equipping young people with relevant tools and opportunities, Enugu State is not just preparing a workforce; it is building a future where no one is left behind.
#GenderInclusion, #VSATTraining, #DigitalSkills, #EnuguRising, #TechForAll the message is clear:
Enugu is not just rising… it is leading.
