YAN Enugu Rises: A New Dawn For Enugu Youths

…A New Era for Ndi Enugu Youths Begins.

The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) Enugu State Chapter, under the purposeful and resilient leadership of Amb. Chidubem Ugwueze JP, has recorded a historic breakthrough via the inauguration of the State Speaker, 3 Senatorial Zonal Leaders, 17 Local Government Leaders and 260 Ward Coordinators with the Principal Officers.


This unprecedented event becomes the first of its kind in the history of youth bodies in Enugu State.


Delivering a powerful welcome address, Amb. Chidubem Ugwueze JP openly highlighted the challenges the Assembly had faced which includes: betrayal, lack of resources, discouragement, and setbacks.


He noted that despite these obstacles, the Assembly remained steadfast, driven by purpose and resilience. This persistence, he said, was validated by the massive crowd of Enugu youths who stormed the venue in solidarity.


 “Today proves that the youths of Ndi Enugu are ready, willing and determined to work with this Assembly,” he declared.


The Ambassador used the occasion to call on His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to intensify empowerment initiatives for the youth and strengthen the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. He urged the Governor to collaborate deeply with YAN to broaden opportunities for the youths at the grassroots.


Amb. Ugwueze firmly appealed to the Chairmen of the 17 LGAs to end their persistent reluctance toward youth engagement, describing their attitude as “discouraging and unacceptable.”


He implored His Excellency to address this issue squarely, adding that no administration progresses without the strength and involvement of its young people.


Representing the Executive Governor of Enugu state, Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Lloyd Ekweremadu Jr, delivered a bold and unforgettable statement:


 “YAN Enugu is the most organised youth body in Enugu State.”


He praised the record-breaking turnout, expressing deep excitement over the unity, discipline, and coordination demonstrated by the youths.

In a symbolic act of support, the Commissioner joined the Assembly’s legal team, Former National Deputy Speaker/Current Asst. Secretary of the BOT of the Assembly Hon. Ezenwata Nwangwu, the National Speaker Hon. Famuyibo Oluwasegun to swear in and decorate the newly inaugurated State Speaker, Zonal and Local Government Leaders and the 260 Ward Coordinators of the Assembly.

Hon. Osita Eze, Member Representing Oji-River Constituency at the House of Assembly Member.

In his closing remarks, the State Ambassador offered heartfelt gratitude to his mentor and boss, Hon. Albert Ezenwata Nwangwu, appreciating his unwavering support in making the 4th Assembly inauguration a reality.


He also extended warm congratulations to:

the newly inaugurated State Speaker, Hon. Christian Ugochukwu Onyeachonam, the Zonal Leaders, the 17 LGA Leaders and the 260 Ward Coordinators.


In his remarks, Hon. Ezenwata Nwangwu adviced the Enugu State youths that they should focus on developing their skills and work towards becoming an outstanding entrepreneurs; "the masses will look for you based on what you can provide for them."


The 4th Assembly is set to champion development, empowerment, and youth participation across Enugu State like never before.
