The Enugu State Government has announced preparations for the 2025 World Children’s Day celebration, a colourful and insightful event dedicated to amplifying the rights, talents, and voices of children across the state. This year’s celebration, themed “My Day, My Right,” is being organised by the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development in collaboration with UNICEF and the Enugu State Children’s Parliament.
Scheduled to hold on Thursday, 20th November 2025, the event will take place at the PPSMB Hall, beside NTA, Independence Layout, Enugu, beginning at 10 a.m. Parents, guardians, schools, and stakeholders in child development are expected to grace the occasion.
According to the government, this year’s celebration will feature the official presentation of the Nigerian Children’s Report published by UNICEF, to be delivered by the Speaker of the Enugu State Children’s Parliament. Children will also engage in discussions, presentations, and activities designed to empower them with life skills while showcasing their unique talents.
Officials say the event will go beyond celebration — it will serve as a platform to emphasize children’s rights, promote child welfare, and encourage meaningful participation of children in societal development. The state government urges parents and guardians to ensure their children attend and benefit from the experience.
