Calls for young Nigerians to “leave politics and find something doing” ignore the harsh reality that politics is at the root of the nation’s deepest crises, from massive youth unemployment and decaying healthcare to deadly roads, collapsed education, and mass poverty. Before we go into this topic, let me feed you with a few facts.
1. Around 765,000 Nigerians graduate from the University yearly, only less than 65,000 of them get jobs, leaving about, 700,000 unemployed. This is why there are over 66 MILLION unemployed young healthy and capable men and women in Nigeria. POLITICS is responsible for that.
2. About 75,000 women died in Childbirth in Nigeria in 2023. This meant that every 7 minutes, a pregnant woman died. Meaning that pregnancy was a near death sentence in Nigeria. POLITICS is responsible for that.
3. About 400,000 infants died in Nigeria in 2024 before they celebrated their first birthday. About one child died every 80 seconds in 2024. That means that before you finish reading this article, about 15 Children have died in Nigeria. POLITICS is responsible for that.
4. POLITICS is the reason why you see traveling abroad to do nanny job or cleaning job as a great achievement (it is actually).
5. POLITICS is the reason why you are probably going to die if you need organ replacement, unless Okwuluora and others intervenes, and when he does not, you attack him instead of those that should have given you healthcare.
6. POLITICS is the reason why you are paying hundreds of thousands in private schools where people who couldn't get admission are teaching your kids.
7. POLITICS is the reason you have to pray and fast before you travel around the country because if you escape accident due to bad roads, kidnappers are waiting for you.
8. POLITICS is the reason why you can't get remote jobs and crypto projects reject your applications because you are from a country of thieves.
9. POLITICS is the reason why you are dating your father's age mate to keep up with your bills, while your boyfriend is looking for sugar mommy but can't find any.
10. POLITICS is the reason you have gone into fraud, or if you haven't, you know at least 5 people who are into fraud as a way to survive.

12. POLITICS is why you work your a$$ off just to buy data, pay for electricity and transport yourself to work.
13. POLITICS is why you can't even fall in love because you need a man that has money to take care of you, and they are few, and if you accept that poor guy that loves you, hunger will kill the two of you and you might become one of those women that die in Childbirth.
14. POLITICS is the reason why you are avoiding your relatives; cousins, nephews, nieces, etc because you are dodging billing. They are hungry, you are hungry too. For 3 years now, you haven't traveled home for Christmas because you can't afford it.
15. POLITICS is the reason why running away from Nigeria is the biggest dreams and life aspirations of over 95% of Nigerian Youths. Infact, the Nigerian DREAM is to LEAVE NIGERIA.
Do you still think we should leave politics and do what exactly?

Find which jobs?
The jobs that 66 MILLION unemployed Youths are looking for but couldn't find, including the M.Sc graduates that Peller disgraced?
Start a business? With which credit or capital? And pay 7.5% VAT on 35% Credit interest Rates plus Enugu State 36k tax per outlet plus ground rent, Band A 1k for 4 units electricity bill, ESWAMA bills and others?
How should I leave the real source of everyone's problems and chase after shadows?
Why should I not face the problem?
If I have malaria, should I not be focused on eradicating malaria and taking Amatem or should I be pouring water on my body to cool down the fever?
Give me a tangible reason why we should leave politics?
If Politics affects every single aspect of your life and my life, why should I leave it.
Infact, why are you not involved?
Is it not irresponsibility on your side?
That something is taking the lives of infants every 80 seconds, and killing pregnant women every 7 minutes and your solution is to leave it alone?
Because you want to sound woke or because your brains are not functioning well or you are just ignorant?
Those who refuse to get involved in politics and join hands with us to save this country are the real grossly irresponsible, unreasonable and heartless enemies of this country.
