The Youths Awakening and Development Initiative (YADI) held its first-ever Business and Academic Grant Empowerment Event on Friday, April 12, 2025, marking a major milestone in the organization’s mission to nurture ambition and reward resilience.
The atmosphere was charged with hope and celebration as YADI concluded the maiden edition of its skill acquisition programme by recognizing and rewarding standout young minds. In a heartwarming moment, four deserving students, drawn from IMT, ESCET, ESPOLY, and PEACELAND College of Education, each received an academic grant of N35,000, a gesture aimed at reducing the financial burdens of education and encouraging academic excellence.
...But YADI didn’t stop there.
Seven skill trainees, who had demonstrated exceptional commitment and innovation throughout their training, were each awarded business grants of N50,000 to help kickstart or expand their entrepreneurial dreams. The grants serve as both a reward and a springboard, an investment into a future where young people are not only job-seekers but job-creators.
The event not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also echoed a larger vision: one where youth empowerment is at the heart of sustainable economic development. Speaking on behalf of the initiative, Executive Director T.U. Nnamani reaffirmed YADI's commitment to continue driving this vision forward. He revealed that more scholarships and business grants are on the horizon, with the next phase of empowerment set to take place during the Business Growth Conference in June.
For a first outing, this event struck all the right chords, hope, support, and transformation. The beneficiaries left with more than just financial support; they left with belief in their potential, and in the power of a community that invests in its youth.
