The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, and ALGON Vice Chairman, Enugu State, Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, had the honour of receiving the Igbo-Eze South Council of Imams at the Legacy Lodge, Ibagwa-Aka, as they paid him a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his election victory.
Speaking on behalf of the council, Imam Usman Nuru Onah lauded Barr. Ukwueze’s inclusive leadership, and described it as a governance model that embraces all, irrespective of religious background. He commended the administration’s commitment to unity and development while offering prayers for its continued success. On behalf of the council, he also pledged unflinching cooperation in fostering peace and progress, in alignment with the visions of the Ukwueze administration.
In his response, Mayor Ukwueze expressed gratitude for their visit and goodwill, emphasising the crucial role of religious leaders in shaping a morally upright and harmonious society. He urged them to continue using their positions to uplift humanity, promote peace, and drive positive change. "Use every privileged opportunity you have to help humanity" - Barr. Ukwueze remarked.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to excellence, he assured the council that his leadership remains open to partnerships that foster growth, stability and inclusiveness across Igbo-Eze South LGA, regardless of religious affiliations.
This visit is an affirmation of the widespread acceptance and support the Ukwueze-led government continues to enjoy across the diverse communities of Igbo-Eze South LGA.
